Cookery Demonstrations
On Sat 5th April only - The Hairy Bikers - Simon King and David Myers will be in the Cookery theatre. They will also be on hand throughout the day to answer any of your questions.
Philippa James
Now a regular at the Festival Philippa will be cooking up a storm in the cookery theatre.
The last twelve months have seen her appear at over 20 engagements, she ran a gourmet course at Runshaw College, made regular appearances on Radio Lancashire she even did a stretch in one of the local prisons teaching inmates how to cook.
Her cookery school in Mawdsley is attracting people from far and wide who want to learn her culinary skills- with the emphasis on local produce-‘I am extremely keen to promote Lancashire as a brand’ she says.

Michael Harrison
Michael will be joining Philippa in the cookery theatre this year.
Crowned Lancashire Life's 'Newcomer of the Year' in 1997, Michael Harrison is Lancashire born and bred and has over 20 years of experience in the business.
A self-taught enthusiast with a grounding at Bolton Catering College, Michael developed his skills mainly in the North West but his travels have sent him on some culinary adventures to Los Angeles and a stint in Kent.
If asked, Michael would say that his three main influences have been John Benson-Smith, Denis Depoitre and a few hundred books!

Food Festival Tea-Room - take a well earned rest!
Oswaldtwistle Mills have very kindly organised a courtesy bus to ferry customers to and from the two venues. In September 2006 the Mill opened a new food based attraction. The Northern Ingredient Gourmet Visitor Experience comprises of three independent local businesses, Ye Olde Sausage Shop, The Crumbly Cheese Deli and Rainhall Drinks.
The Hungry Tackler Restaurant is also taking part in the festival and will be offering a traditional homemade Lancashire lunch as a part of their menu, which also features a wide range of locally made produce.
The Crumbly Cheese Deli offers an extensive range of cheeses, chutneys, crackers and deli items such as stuffed peppers, olives and stuffed vine leaves. Ye Olde Sausage Shop sell a variety of specialist sausages, fresh meats and pre-prepared meals. They also offer "Make your own sausage" allowing customers to chose their own ingredients for sausages, before watching them be made in-store while you wait. Rainhall Drinks stock a vast array of specialist wines from around the world, along with organically produced wines made without the use of any pesticides. They also offer a range of spirits and accessories.
The Northern Ingredient businesses will be offering free samples of their products.
In store we also have Stockley’s Sweet Street, the working sweet factory, you can watch sweets being made in the traditional way and also take samples such as sarsaparilla, cinder toffee and pear drops.
On production of your ticket, anyone visiting Oswaldtwistle Mills over the Food Festival weekend will receive discount vouchers, for use on the day which include half price entry to Stockley’s sweets.
